Selena Laurence has done it again... made me lose my heart to another "Lush" boy. Making me love Mike Owens was by FAR her greatest feat. Joss *swoon* and Walsh were easy to love. Mike... well... not. so. much.
Lowdown and Lush is the story of Mike Owens, the former band's notorious bad boy and Jenny, the preachers daughter with the voice of an angel. Mike discovers her talent and is so sure that she will make it, that he creates his own label to represent her. They become best friends and Mike is secretly in love with her... and she, not so secretly in love with him. None of it matters, because Mike will not act on his feelings. Jenny is too good for him and he refuses to taint her.
And so the battle ensues. Jenny is determined to make this bad boy fall in love with her, whatever it takes. And, it takes a LOT and wreaks havoc on her poor heart. You know what they say... be careful what you wish for...
Lowdown and Lush is full of ups and downs. Mike and Jenny each have their own set of issues and become each others greatest problem of all.
If you have not started this series, seriously, what are you waiting for? Every book in this series has been unique and beautifully written. I've come to expect no less from Mrs. Selena Laurence!

I have absolutely no doubt that will go down as one of my absolute favorite quotes of all time. I love it!
Lowdown and Lush is the third installment in the rocker romance Lush series. It's Mike's story, Lush's crude, bad boy guitarist who finds himself in love with Jenny, a very good girl who's lived a sheltered life as a preacher's daughter. Fearful that he'll only hurt her, Mike keeps Jenny at arm's length while he works with her on her music career. Jenny has plans of her own, however, and at the top of her list is getting Mike Owen's to own up to his feelings for her.
Holy angst Batman! Mike and Jenny's story is full of ups and downs, highs and lows, ghosts from the past, regret and second chances. My heart ACHED for both Mike and Jenny ... things shouldn't be so hard for two people who love each other ... especially two people who deserve to have their happily ever after.
Selena definitely does not disappoint with Lowdown and Lush! I love that Joss, Mel, Walsh, and Tammy are all in the picture and that despite the rockiness in the past, they are all there for each other. Mike finds the most support from the least likely person and *sigh* my heart was just happy!
There's only one more book left in this series and up next is Colin's book. I'm a little sad to see this series come to an end but, at the same time, can't wait to see what's in store for the boys of Lush!
