Monica Murphy returns with her most beloved characters, Drew and Fable, in this eBook original short story that brings her bestselling New Adult series full circle. Fantasy. How I ended up with NFL player Drew Callahan, the guy every woman wants, is beyond my wildest dreams. All I know is that once he chose me as his one and only, I sure wasn’t looking back. I had past wounds and he showed patience and concern—even accepting responsibility for my messed-up kid brother. Now, yet again, he's found a way to blow my mind: an exotic wedding and honeymoon miles and miles away from home. What else could a girl ever ask for? Reality. Except now the honeymoon’s over. Drew's football schedule takes him on the road constantly, while I need to stay put and look after my brother until he finishes high school—because God knows our sorry excuse for a mother won’t. I know Drew loves me with all his heart, and I’ll always be over the moon about him. This just isn’t how I imagined life as newlyweds . . . dealing with the distance, missing him constantly. But we’ve gone through hard times before. We can get through this, too, right? We’re Drew and Fable, together forever. At least I hope so. . . .

“We should check out Ocean Avenue tomorrow,” Drew whispers close to my ear, amusement tingeing his deep voice. “What? Are you serious?” Even though I’ve come to terms with being here, it doesn’t mean I want to linger and make it a serious vacation. Besides, Drew needs to get back home so he can resume practice. “Well yeah, remember the spot where we kissed?” His eyes are warm as they search my face, filled with so much love I feel my heart swell. “Yes,” I whisper achingly. “Of course I remember.” “I want to go back there.” He tucks a strand of hair behind my ear, his index finger lingering on my skin. “I want to kiss you again in that little alley and remember how wet we were from the rain. How nervous I was. I was scared you might reject me.” I’d felt the same way. We’d dealt with much of the same feelings and fears and hadn’t even known it. “I want to take you to that store where you got the dress that just about killed me and buy you whatever you want,” he continues, his fingers drifting across my jaw. My eyes flutter closed as memories rush back at me. “I want to sit outside the dressing room and have you come out to show me every single thing you’re trying on.” That he remembers all the little details sends a thrill of pleasure spiraling to the very depths of my soul. “And then I want to wander off for a bit and let you do whatever you want, secretly hoping that you’ll send me a text that says marshmallow. Though if you don’t that’s okay because I’ll send you one instead.” He offers up a crooked smile and the sight of it cracks my heart wide open, overflowing with so much pure love for him I want to cry. “Because we made a deal. Whenever we see or hear that word, the other comes running. I’ll always be the one to rescue you, Fable. You never have to worry about that.”

Twosome Tuesday! Remy by Katy Evans Blog Tour

Book Title: Remy
Author: Katy Evans
Date of Publication: November 25, 2013
Publisher: Gallery Books
Blog Tour Hosted by: The SUBClub Books

Underground fighter Remington Tate is a mystery, even to himself. His mind is dark and light, complex and enlightening. At times his actions and moods are carefully measured, and at others, they spin out of control.

Through it all, there's been one constant: wanting, needing, loving, and protecting Brooke Dumas. This is his story; from the first moment he laid eyes on her and knew, without a doubt, she would be the realest thing he's ever had to fight for.

Heather's Review
3-3.5 smooches!!

I am a fucking pendulum.

Any disturbance to my balance, and I swing.

The doctors taught me this.

Once I swing high, nothing on earth will stop me from crashing back down.

I fall by gravity.  Natural urge of the body to restore balance.

But that’s the thing.  A pendulum always seeks its balance.

She’s my balance.

I need her more than air.

Ahhh Remy.  There are times that being in his head were pure magic.

Remy alternates between the present, which takes place 6 months after Mine, and the past going all the way back to Real.  There were moments of real raw emotion that touched me.  You really feel his self-loathing over his illness… how terrified he is that Brooke will leave him from the start and how devastated he is when she finally does.  How even now, he battles with that same fear...

Sometimes all my chest feels knotted and I think about waking one morning to find Brooke and my son gone, and dying is too easy to describe what I want to do.

I REALLY REALLY wanted to LOVE this book.  Real and Mine are two of my favorites of the year.  Unfortunately for me, it was just okay.  I always struggle with a book re-written in the male POV.  It is not that I don’t like the male POV.  I can read a book with alternating or from all male or all female POV.  But, for me to read the same story twice in a different POV, it has to have something epic to make me love it and Remy just did not have that.

The sex was a bit too animalistic for my taste.  We all know how primal Remy is and through Brooke’s head it was HOT and sexy.  I admit the licking still made me cringe at times but it was all so hot that I could let that go! Those same scenes in Remy’s head just did not do it for me.  He constantly refers to sex as mating and her being his mate.  It just kind of lost the sexy factor for me.

I don’t want to make it sound like I did not enjoy this book, because I did.  There were parts that I LOVED.  Sex and the repetitiveness of it being the same story aside, I did enjoy being in Remy’s head.  I just don’t think it has the same magic that Real and Mine did.  I give Remy 3-3.5 smooches!

Selene's Review

3.5  Smooches

The yells feed me.  I suck them in with a smile, full of pride and satisfaction.  I can see in every one of these people's eyes that I'm the man.  But I want to see it in her eyes.  That. I'm. The. Man.
And you are Remy.  You will ALWAYS be The. Man.

I love companion novels written in the male POV.  Actually, I think it’s safe to say I am a male POV whore.  No joke.  I LOVED Walking Disaster, Losing Hope, and This Girl more than their companion novels. So, I was chomping at the bit to get my hands on REMY.  Because IT’S REMY!  I love Remington Tate and I wanted to get in his head and see the beauty and the ugly, the black.
What will it be like if I make her mine?  I don't delude myself into thinking that she will accept me, but what if she does?  What if she can understand me?  The way I am?  The two parts of me?  No.  Not two parts.  Every.  Single.  Fucking.  Part.  Of me.
**sigh**  I so wish I could say I loved this book …. but I can’t.  Did I like it?  I did.  Did I love it?  Sadly, no.  And, trust me, I REALLY wanted to love it.

REMY brushes over parts of REAL and MINE and is peppered with flashes from the present, going out six months after Racer’s birth.  I don’t know if was because I just finished MINE but I found myself (and I really, really hate saying this) bored at times with REMY.  Everything seemed to be the “short version” retelling of REAL and MINE but then when the book spent more time on something it was just about Remy’s need to MATE with Brooke.  Seriously, Remy was like a dog in heat most of the time …. and not in a good way.  My world was not rocked.   It got old with me.  It just wasn’t the same sexy Remy I’ve grown to love.

But there were moments of the Remy that I love here and there and that does make this book worth reading.
My eyes run over her face, and it’s the same face I look for every morning in my bed, and every moment I’m in the ring, and every second in between.
There are things you’re certain about.  That you’d bet your life on. Things that you just know.  You know the heat of a fire will burn you.  Water will quench your thirst.  She is one of those things; the most unerring certainty of my life.
I was a little bummed too that Brooke had the final say in the book.  The final chapter is in her POV …. I kind of feel like Remy should’ve had the last word.  I mean it was his book after all.

While I wanted more from REMY, I am glad I got a glimpse inside Remy's head.  Its wasn't quite what I expected but if you love Remington Tate and want more of Riptide, REMY will definitely wet your whistle!
