Unscrupulous
By Avery Aster
Book 2 in The Manhattanites series
Synopsis
At thirty-three Warner Truman is
one of the richest men on the planet, a spa mogul who buys and sells resorts at
will. He holds powerful executive’s careers in his well-groomed hands. Nothing
is beyond Warner’s reach…until he meets her.
Stunning, tantalizing, and
perverse, Taddy Brill captivates Warner’s carnal desire like no woman he’s ever
met. A self-made millionaire, Taddy is tougher than steel, more brilliant than
diamonds and, at twenty-seven, she’s never depended on a man for anything…until
she meets him.
The more Taddy plays with Warner’s
affections, driving him to erotic heights, the more she is confronted by a dark
past. But before she can love him, Taddy must meet her worst fears head-on or
risk losing it all, including herself.

4 Big Daddy Smooches!
Before I jump in, I need to set the
stage for this review. Prior to reading
Unscrupulous, the past few books I read included Beneath the Burn and the Emi
Lost and Found series. Coming down from
those books, I wanted NEEDED to read something light and entertaining
while I weaned myself off the Xanax required to get through Time Stands Still
(I am joking y’all … drugs are bad).
I am happy to report that
Unscrupulous was exactly what the doctor ordered!
Both Warner and Taddy are fantastic characters, even more so when they are together. They meet by chance over the New Year
holiday. Their chemistry is off-the-charts hot and a welcome surprise given they both have been having a sexual dry spell. Warner’s ex-fiance ruins ‘what
could have been’ that night and it’s not until months later when their paths
cross again and their relationship begins. Their story is fun, hot and
sexy and I enjoyed every minute of it!
Taddy’s friendships, though, steal
the show. Her best girlfriends, Lex (a party
girl, liquor heiress) and Vive (a successful fashion designer) are outrageous
and raunchy … in an amazingly, hilarious way! This trio is fiercely loyal to one another –
another aspect of the story that really worked and drew me in.
This is the first Avery Aster book I've had the pleasure to read and I am definitely a fan. The antics and dialog in this book are over
the top and pure book candy! And it is per-f'in-fection!
