Heather's Review:
5 Breath-taking smooches

Archer’s Voice is a book that literally stole my breath.  It is beautiful and soul-touching.  It is the story of two people who have survived unthinkable tragedies and how they learn to live, love, and heal together.

Bree moves to the coastal town of Pelion to escape her past… to try to outrun her memories and get a fresh start.  On the very first day in her new home, she literally runs in to Archer Hale and despite his disheveled appearance, is instantly taken with him.

Archer is the town recluse.  He rarely leaves his home and doesn’t speak.  No one in town seems to know if it is by choice or if he physically just can’t.  They all know something horrible happened to him… that something is wrong with him but the only person who bothers to delve any deeper is Bree.

I didn’t know enough to dream you, Bree, but somehow you came true anyway.  How did that happen… Who read my mind and knew exactly what I wanted, even when I didn’t?

Oh Archer!  Seriously the SWEETEST , most innocent and loveable character I have EVER read.  I fell in love with him from the start and am still overwhelmed with how attached to him I became.  Even when he screwed up… I forgave him instantly and wanted to make HIM feel better.

I know I'm probably the last person you want to see right now, but I just thought if I sat on your porch, you wouldn't be scared. You wouldn't be alone.

He had hurt me and yet I clung to him as if my very life depended on it.

Bree is an amazing heroine.  She is dealing with so much of her own pain and guilt, yet is completely selfless when it comes to Archer.  She sees how special he is from the start and loves him with all that she has.  She is relentless at breaking down his walls.

He was so beautiful.  I felt something catch in my chest and knew it was just him, taking my breath away.

Their relationship is all-consuming and at times very overwhelming for Archer.  He doesn’t know how to be with another person.  He has been alone and dependent on only himself for so long.

I’m afraid to love you.  I’m afraid that you’ll leave and that I’ll go back to being alone again.  Only it will be a hundred times worse because I’ll know what I’m missing…

There are people who try to interfere in their relationship… secrets that can’t ever come out.  There were moments where I was scared to read on.  This book touched every piece of my heart, gave me goosies, and at times had me on the edge of my seat.

As much as I want to tell all and quote the whole book, I won’t say any more.  How do you rate perfection?  I feel like nothing I say will adequately relay how amazing this book truly is.  There are not enough stars and I can’t find words.  To render me speechless is truly a feat.  If you have not read Archer’s Voice yet, move it to the TOP of your TBR.  You will not be sorry!  BEAUTIFUL story Mia.  Just beautiful!

Selene's Review:

5 - PERFECT  - Smooches

You brought the silence,
The most beautiful sound I'd ever heard ...

I already know my review will not convey how absolutely fantastic this book is.  I wish I possessed the ability to string words together to illustrate the true magic of Archer’s Voice.  I have no doubt I will fall short …. so please know going into this review that no matter how great I might make this book sound, it is so, so much more!

Beautiful.

Beautiful is the word that repeatedly comes to mind when I think of Archer and Bree’s story.

It is a beautiful love story that is beautifully told.

Archer’s innocence is beautiful.

Bree’s love for Archer is beautiful.

Bree is running from her past, returning to a place her family vacationed when she was a child.  She desperately hopes to find peace there.

Every morning the flashback came, and every evening I felt stronger again.  Each dawn I had hope that this new day would be the one that would set me free, and that I would make it through without having to endure the pain of being chained in grief to the night that would forever separate now from then.

Archer is hiding from everything and everyone.  A childhood accident left him mute and orphaned, and in the care of his eccentric uncle.  His upbringing is anything but traditional and when Archer is seventeen, his uncle passes, leaving him all alone.  He becomes the town recluse and is pitied, avoided and grossly misunderstood by everyone.

Until Bree comes to town ...

From the moment she meets him, Bree feels an unexplained pull to Archer.  Bree's father was deaf so she is able to sign with him, opening up a new world to Archer ... the ability to communicate with someone else.  As they get to know one other, Bree looks past the surface and into his heart and soul.  As Archer begins to trust Bree, he reveals his intelligence, humor, wit, and the fact that he is just about the most perfect man to ever live.  Yes, he has some issues to work through because of his solitary life and lack of social skills but his innocence is just so sweet and endearing.

My absolute favorite part of the book is Archer’s innocence with ALL things having to do with being in a relationship with Bree.  And not just the sexual stuff (which by the way is so beautifully written) but navigating all the feelings and unknowns that come with caring for and falling in love with someone.
I'm afraid to love you.  I'm afraid that you'll leave and that I'll go back to being alone again.  Only it will be a hundred times worse because I'll know what I'm missing.  I can't ... I want to be able to love you more than I fear losing you, and I know know how.  Teach me, Bree.  Please teach me.  Don't let me destroy this. - Archer
There are both tender and heart-breaking moments that will simply take your breath away.

"What are your dreams, Archer?"  I whispered, wanting to know what was in his heart…

He brought his hands up and said, I didn’t know enough to dream you, Bree, but somehow you came true anyway.  How did that happen?  He rubbed his nose along mine, pausing and then pulling back again.  Who read my mind and knew exactly what I want, even when I didn’t?

As much as Bree brings to Archer's life, he brings just as much to her's.  And, for me, that is the most beautiful thing about Archer's Voice.

I think I high-lighted most of the book!  Mia’s words are beautiful (can I get a word count for the number of times I use that word???).   There was just so many times my heart wanted to burst from all the emotions this book had me feeling.

Archer’s Voice is magic – pure and simple.  It is a breath of fresh air in a sea of stories that often seem to follow the same formula.  I have no doubt this book will remain a favorite of mine for years to come.
